SafePassage is a cost-effective and elegant engineered solution that delivers out-of-the-box, ready-to-install, built-in electrified deck fire protection.
SafePassage leverages a patented intumescent composite and is injection molded to exacting OEM specifications. Its proprietary intumescent technology provides a protective barrier against the spread of fire, protecting life and preserving property.
SafePassage is a fire-resistant thermoplastic “puck”, which is classified under “Outlet Boxes and Fittings for Fire-Resistance” by Underwriters Laboratories. The electrical insert poke-through device is listed by UL as a component for use in electrified fire rated deck systems.
The electrical insert poke-through device is designed as a “preset insert” component to be installed over factory-punched holes in steel floor units to allow for passage of wires in a fire rated deck assembly. SafePassage can be used as an “after set insert” installed in core-drilled holes of a concrete topping in cellular steel floor units to allow for passage of wires in a fire rated deck assembly.
SafePassage® is engineered for OEMs developing fire-rated poke-through devices for floors, walls, and ceilings. Molded from Pyrophobic’s Intuplas® intumescent polymer, SafePassage® helps protect the opening around electrical and data pathways by expanding when exposed to heat, forming a barrier against fire, heat, and smoke.
