Bernograph

Bernograph is a nanocomposite material comprising of a thermoplastic carrier combined with a carbon nano-tube intumescent activator. The material is not hydroscopic and requires no special treatments. The material is safe to handle and dispose of and is recyclable. At normal temperatures Bernograph has an unlimited shelf life. Bernograph can withstand elevated temperatures for prolonged periods and depending on the composition, indefinitely. Expansion rates of 2x to 60x+ can be achieved. The char is insulating, very dense and stable in aggressive environments and provides an adequate barrier for periods up to 2 hour+ ratings. Intumescence starts to take place at approximately 200°C. Bernograph is designed for normal ambient conditions as well for elevated working temperatures, such as with a LED light fixture.
