The Intuplas Fireblock device provides Intertek Testing Services list “membrane penetration protection” in fire rated walls for up to 4 gang electrical boxes with ratings up to 2 hours. The Fireblock device can be used with wood studs and gypsum board construction; as well as steel stud and gypsum board construction. Fireblock is clean and simple to install by being inserted into the back of the box with a friction fit. Fireblock is made of hard, durable thermoplastic material that is nonhydroscopic, does not oxidize and maintains the manufacturer’s original fire resistant performance. Fireblock is ready for use in renovation and new construction projects. A Fire Resistant Light Switch cover is in development and will significantly reduce complexity of installation.
